The Resource House Project Family Support

The Resource House provides emotional and practical support to families by phone, email and face to face.

Early Years and School Aged Childcare service continues to engage with the children registered in the service by providing them with fun activities to do at home.

Sligo Lifestart

The Growing Child Programme is a free programme, delivered to first time parents in their own homes. You get a month-by-month guide on how your child develops and grows from birth to 3 years.

Free online Parents Plus starting in June, a course promoting confidence, learning and positive behaviour in young children aged 1 to 6 years.

Sligo/ Leitrim Home Youth Liaison

The Home Youth Liaison Officers (HYLO) work in primary and post primary schools in Sligo and Leitrim.  Anyone attending school in Sligo and Leitrim can contact the HYLS.   The service is open and continues to work with young people.

The Sligo Leitrim Home Youth Liaison Service Facebook page posts useful information for young people and their parents.  It also has some great videos for young people who are starting secondary school later this year.  Topics covered include general advice on the getting ready for the first days of secondary school, managing your timetable, the issue of bullying, making new friends and peer pressure.  Well worth a watch!

Sligo School Completion Programme

This programme works to support children and young people to increase the numbers of young people staying in primary and second level school and in doing so improve the numbers of pupils who successfully complete the Senior Cycle, or the equivalent.

Sligo SCP works with children and young people in Mercy College, Summerhill College, Ballinode College, St Brendan’s NS, St Johns National School, Our Lady of Mercy National School, St Edwards National School and Sligo School Project in Sligo town and a number of other schools in Sligo county.
